Peola's Passing

Set in 1964, two sisters from Jackson, Mississippi —one “passing” and the other about to risk her life for change — confront the realities of the color bar at the dawn of the Civil Rights Act.


One Act. RUNNING TIME: 30 minutes.

The production in Bogota', Columbia was part of the Alternative Theatre Festival put on by the Colombian Theatre Corporation and was directed by Melody Brooks (New Perspectives Theatre Company, NYC).   

"Peola's Passing" was developed at New Perspectives Theatre Company in the Women's Work Short Works Lab.
